Teledyne Acquires CARIS

Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies announced Friday morning that it has acquired CARIS, a developer of software for processing and visualization sonar data and other information. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by the companies. CARIS, founded in 1979, was based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. CARIS offers up bathymetry, seafloor imagery and water column data processing, and other geospatial software used for processing sonar data, used heavily in the hydrographic and marine community.
