Teledyne Scientific Gets $2.1M From DOE

Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Scientific and Imaging has been awarded $2.1M, as part of a major investment from the U.S. Department of Energy announced Tuesday, to bolster innovative manufacturing technology in the United States. According to the Department of Energy, it awarded more than $54 million to thirteen projects across the country, which it says will "advance transformational technologies and materials" for American manufacturers. The award to Teledyne Scientific goes towards the development of sacrificial protective coating materials, used as part of the pump and paper industry. All of the projects awarded by the DOE help in some way to reduce energy needed to power manufacturing facilities.
