The Roddenberry Foundation Launches $1.5 Million Prize

Los Angeles-based The Roddenberry Foundation--the charitable foundation which honors Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry--said this week that it is launching a $1.5 million prize, which will support early science and technology ventures. According to the group, it will award, biennially, $1.5M, split between a a $1 million grand prize along with five $100,000 finalist awards to early-stage (post-seed through Series A) ventures that are "leading us towards a better, healthier, and more prosperous future."
