ThreatSTOP Blocks Malicious DNS

Carlsbad-based cybersecurity software developer ThreatSTOP announced on Wednesday that it has rolled out a new software product, which detects and automatically blocks malicious DNS queries. According to the company, its new ThreatSTOP Roaming Defense protects laptops and off-premise devises against ransomware, phishing, malware and data theft. DNS (the domain name service) is used by computers to translate web and Internet addresses to IP addresses, and is often used by malware to misdirect information to steal personal information from users. The new product is an expansion of ThreatSTOP's existing product line, which updates firewalls, routers, switches and DNS servers. Pricing on the new product was not announced.
