Ticketmaster, NHL Partner On Ticket Resale Service

West Hollywood-based Ticketmaster, the ticketing service owned by Barry Diller's IAC, and the National Hockey League said Wednesday afternoon that the two have entered into a multi-year agreement to create a ticket resale service for the NHL. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ticketmaster will provide a site which will allow NHL fans to buy or sell NHL tickets, with initial services available this season and full launch in the 2008-09 season. The deal follows a similar deal announced Tuesday with the National Football League. Both deals ramp up Ticketmaster's competition against StubHub, a ticket resale service owned by EBay, Inc.
