Total Immersion Lands Deal With Book Publisher
Los Angeles-based Total Immersion, the augmented reality software firm headed by Bruno Uzzan, has extended the firm's list of promotional content deals to the book publishing business. The firm--along with publisher Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing--said Tuesday afternoon that it will provide additional, augmented reality features to accompany a new series of books by Tony DiTerlizzi. Total Immersion said that it is deploying its technology as part of "The Search for Wondla", a book by DiTerlizzi. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The firms said this is the first time that Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has used augmented reality in a novel, and the first time Total Immersion is providing its technology for a novel and related marketing campaign. The content in the book--based on hidden features in illustrations--unlocks interactive content for readers with a webcam.
