    Transonic Combustion Gets Second Round


    Camarillo-based Transonic Combustion, which is developing an advanced fuel injection system to improving the fuel economy of automobiles, said Tuesday afternoon that it has closed a second round of venture capital funding. The round was led by Venrock, and also included Rustic Canyon and Khosla Ventures. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. The firm's CEO, Mike Cheiky, said in a statement that the second round was accelerated to allow the firm to proceed from currently single cylinder test engines to automotive size, four cylinder engines.
