Transpera Announces Funding
Santa Monica-based Transpera has confirmed the firm's funding, saying Tuesday that it has raised a round of venture capital from First Round Capital, IDG Ventures, and Intel Capital. Transpera is developing next generation mobile video products, and is headed by Frank Barbieri. Transpera said that its products will allow people enjoy their favorite online video on their phones, send on-line video to their handsets, and post videos from their phones directly to the web. Jeff Bussgang of IDG, Howard Morgan of First Round Capital, and Jeff Schrock of Real Networks have joined the firm's board of directors. socalTECH first reported the funding last Thursday.
