    Transpera Gains Funding


    Santa Monica-based Transpera, a firm that is developing mobile video products, has quietly landed backing from a number of venture firms, socalTECH.com has learned. Transpera is now listed as a portfolio firm on Intel Capital and First Round Capital's web sites; Intel has an initial investment date of June 7 listed on Transpera's profile. No further details of the funding have been released. The firm is headed by Frank Barbieri, former President and COO of Viva Vision, who has also served at Infospace, Microsoft, Onvia, and MSNBC.
