Troy Capital Backs TrueCar Vet's New Startup, Rollick Outdoor

Santa Monica-based Troy Capital Partners, a new venture investment firm led by Josh Berman, Brian Sullivan, and Samit Varma, has backed a veteran of TrueCar for a new startup called Rollick Outdoor. Rollick, created by former TrueCar co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Bernie Brenner, said it raised $5M in a seed funding to help powersports, marine, and RV dealers with their retail experience,. The funding came from Silverton Partners, Autotech Ventures, Troy Capital Partners, Capital Factory and entrepreneur Brett Hurt. According to Rollick Outdoor, it will work with the powersports, RV and marine industries and partner large membership groups to drive buyers to those retailers. Rollick Outdoor is based in Austin, where Brenner was based while at Santa Moinca-based TrueCar. Newly formed Troy Capital says it has also made investments in Replicated, Frontier Car Group, SpaceX, Hyperloop One, Hollar, AppOnBoard, SurfAir, and Mira; the venture investor's only prior public investment announcement was in AppOnBoard in May.
