Uber Expands In San Diego

Uber, the technology-enabled, private car service which uses smartphones to allow users to summon a private car, is further expanding its Southern California efforts, saying today that it has launched in San Diego. The service--which expanded into Los Angeles in March--lets users call for private sedans operated by partners in the area. Uber is venture backed by Menlo Ventures, Bezos Expeditions, and Goldman Sachs, and is based in San Francisco, although CEO Travis Kalanick is a LA native.
