Ubermedia Targets TV With New Tool
Pasadena-based UberMedia, which develops mobile advertising technology, is looking to connect mobile ads with television advertising with a new, targeting tool. According to UberMedia, its new TV Extender product helps to connect mobile ad campaigns with audiences of television shows--allowing for targeting as accurate as the household level. Ubermedia says it uses social signals, Twitter followers, video views, and location history to enable television shows to target users down to the level of household and specific device -- so that mobile campaigns can be synchronized to ads that are running on a specific television show. The company explains the product can either be used to reach the same audience across multiple screens--or make sure that consumers see an ad outside designated viewing times, or even to show ads to consumers watching a TV show they don't currently have ads running. Pricing on the new product was not announced by the company.
