United Online Shuffles Staff For FTD Spinoff; Goldston To Leave

Woodland Hils-based United Online has sorted out its management structure, in preparation for its spinoff of FTD coming up next month. According to United Online, Francis Lobo will become President and CEO of United Online, and also will join its board; Lobo was previously an executive at AOL. Howard G. Phansteil will become Chairman of United Online's board. On the FTD side, Robert S. Apatoff will become President and CEO of FTD Companies; he has been at FTD since 2008, but had been on FTD's board since 2004. FTD will appoint Robert H. Berglass as Chairman. United Online also said that Mark R. Goldston, Chairman, President, and CEO of the company, will depart the company as part of the spin off. The company had said earlier in the year that Goldston would leave with the split of the company.
