    Universal Sues MySpace

Universal Music sued MySpace Friday, claiming that the popular social networking web site infringes on the copyrights of thousands of its artists. Responding to the lawsuit, MySpace said in a statement that Universal's lawsuit was "unnecessary and meritless", and that it is fully compliant with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court Central District of California, Western Division.
