    Userplane Adds Revenue Share Program

Santa Monica-based Userplane has rolled out a new revenue sharing program targeted at web publishers. The firm said this morning that it will allow publishers to use its instant messaging, web chat, and other widgets in exchange for revenue share on advertising. The new program pays publishers who use Userplane's community tools via PayPal. Userplane's instant messaging and other tools are used by online communities for adding community features to their web sites; the company's tools are used by a large number of social networking, dating, and other sites. Userplane is owned by AOL, which acquired the firm in August of 2006.
