    Userplane Links Into Network, Cable TV Providers


    Santa Monica-based Userplane, a provider of social networking and related software, said this morning that it has signed a number of deals with network and cable television media partners. Userplane, which is a subsidiary of AOL, said that Channel 4 (UK), The CW, FUEL TV, and IFC are all using the firm's community applications on their online sites. Financial impact of the deals was not disclosed. The television firms are using Userplane's Webchat, Minichat, and Webmessenger instant messaging applications are part of their online communities. Userplane's software is used by community and social networking websites to offer up instant messaging, live chat, and other features.
