    Userplane Makes Web Recording Software Free, Ad-Supported


    Santa Monica-based Userplane, the subsidiary of AOL which provides applicaton software for online communities and web sites, said today that it has upgraded the firm's Webrecorder software and will offer a free, ad-supported version of the tool. Userplane's Webrecorder software is used by websites to enable recording and playback of audio and video messages. Userplane said that it will feature unobtrusive advertising handled by Userplane on the tool, to make it free of charge to webmasters and publishers. Userplane also offers an ad-supported version of its popular instant messaging software.
