    ValueClick Acquires MeziMedia


    Westlake Village-based ValueClick announced this morning that it has agreed to buy Los Angeles-based MeziMedia, operator of the Smarter.com and CouponMountain.com comparison shopping web sites. The deal is worth approximately $100M in cash, plus earn out. According to ValueClick, depending on revenue performance, the deal could be worth as much as $352M in cash. MeziMedia will add to ValueClick's comparison shopping business, which currently also includes PriceRunner. The firm also said that the acquisition will aid in its search engine optimization and search engine marketing capabilities, and a presence in China, where MeziMedia maintains an engineering and operations center. MeziMedia, which was founded in 2001, has 160 employees and approximately $40M in revenues in 2006.
