    Vativ Ships HDMI Receiver Chip

San Diego-based Vativ has shipped a new HDMI receiver chip. Vativ said this week that it has shipped a new, HDMI receiver chip targeted at digital TV. The company's new VTV2310 device is targeted in use in HD-DVD players, Blue-ray DVD players, HD-DVD recorders, set top boxes, gaming consoles, and camcorders. The chip is based on the company's DSP-based adaptive equalizer technology. The company is shipping samples and evaluation kits now, and said that it will be in volume production in Q3 of this year. Vativ is backed by Innocal, Intel Capital, Redpoint, and Mission Ventures, among others.
