Verdezyne Signs Distributor In Asia Pacific

Carlsbad-based Verdezyne, the developer of renewable chemicals which is backed by BP Ventures, DSM Venturing B.V., OVP Venture Partners, Monitor Ventures, and Sime Darby, has signed on a new distributor in the Asia Pacific region. Verdezyne said it has inked a deal with Connell Bros. Co. LLC, which it says is the largest marketer and distributor of specialty chemicals in the Asia-Pacific region, to sell and distributie its BIOLON DDA (biobased dodecanedioic acid) products. The chemical is being producted at a plant in Malaysia. Verdezyne said it has agreed to give CBC access to more than 10 percent of the expected plant capacity. DDDA is being used for manufacturing automotive parts, toothbrush bristles, cosmetics, and fragrances.
