Verimatrix Raises $8M
San Diego-based Verimatrix has raised a Series B round of funding. The round of funding was led by Crescendo Ventures, and also included participation by prior investors Mission Ventures and Siemens Venture Capital. Verimatrix is developing access control and content protection and watermarking technology for IPTV. The firm's software solution is used to encrypt and authenticate digital video content to set top boxes. The firm said it will use the funding to aggresively enter new markets.
