    Vertiflex Raises $20M For Spinal Devices


    Carlsbad-based medical devices firm Vertiflex has raised $20M in a venture round from Aberdare Ventures, Alta Partners, and Morgenthaler Ventures, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers and the NVCA. The round has not been announced. According to Aberdare, Vertiflex is developing innovative spinal orthopedic devices for the most prevalent disorders of the spine. According to a U.S. FDA database filing the firm is developing a pedicle screw system for spinal surgery.
