San Diego-based Verve Wireless is reporting tonight that the firm served up 100 million mobile news pages per month in 2009, up 160% year over year. The firm, which powers such mobile news applications as AP Mobile, said it is on track to serve up 2.2 billion news pages this year. The firm attributed the growth in news page views to local media partners, who have recently been signing up to the company's white label mobile application product. Verve develops mobile applications for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Nokia, Palm Pre, and Windows Mobile phones, which can be customized for local newspapers and other local media.
