Verve Wireless Signs Newspaper Publishers, Adds iPhone Support
Encinitas-based Verve Wireless, which develops products to help newspapers publishers take their content to mobile phones, is announcing this morning that it has partnered with Media News Group, A.H. Belo Corporation, Hearst Corporation, and Cox Newspapers, to power mobile sites for The Denver Post, The Dallas Morning News, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Palm Beach Post, and Examiner.com. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Verve said the new partnership brings the firm's list of local media properties it is supporting to 450, with a reach of 47.5 million monthly page views. Separately, the firm said it has rolled out a new, iPhone 3.0 web module which creates a site optimized for the new Safari browser on iPhones; the module automatically takes content from newspaper web sites and reformats it into an iPhone friendly layout.
