    ViaSat Buys Intelligent Compression Technologies


    Carlsbad-based ViaSat announced today that it has acquired Intelligent Compression Technologies, a provider of data compression products for the communications market. The deal is worth $20M, in a combination of cash and stock. ViaSat said that it would pay $6.5M in cash and the 416,727 shares of its common stock for Intelligent Compression Technologies, and up to $34.3M in cash or stock in earn out. ViaSat is a provider of communications products for the satellite and communications market.
