    ViaSat Buys Satellite Antenna Firm


    Carlsbad-based ViaSat, a developer of products for the satellite and digital communications industry, said this morning that it has acquired JAST Antenna Systems, a privately held developer of microwave circuits and antennas for terrestrial and satellite applications. The deal was worth $2.0M in cash plus up to $4.5M in earn out over the next two years. ViaSat said that it expects to complete the acquisition in the next 30 days. JAST Antenna Systems is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. ViaSat provides networking products, encryption, satellite broadband services, and other communications products.
