ViaSat Extends Government In-Flight Broadband Contract

Carlsbad-based ViaSat said this morning that it has received an extension on an existing, U.S. government contract, to provide in-flight connectivity services for aircraft for senior leaders of the U.S. Government. ViaSat said the face value of the contract extension is $19.2M. The extension came with the United States Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The contract covers use of ViaSat's Ku- and Ka-band communications satellite network. ViaSat said the total, cumulative face value of its contract with DISA is $73.2M. ViaSat's satellite network is used in Air Force One, among other government aircraft.
