ViaSat Gets FAA Approval For Installations On The Airbus A320

San Diego-based satellite technology developer ViaSat has received FAA approval to install its Ka-band antennas on the Airbus A320, the company said this morning. ViaSat said it received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval from the FAA to install its advanced Ka-band satellite antenna and radome on Airbus A320 aircraft, which will expand the number of aircraft it can install its new high speed Internet service onto. ViaSat is already installing its high speed, in-flight Internet on Virgin America aircraft, and says it already deployed on nearly 500 commercial planes in the U.S. so far.
