    Vitesse Goes 4 Gig


    Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor announced yesterday that it is shipping a new 4 Gbps Repeater/Retimer for the high speed networking market. The new VSC8228 supports Fibre Channel networking market, and 125 Mbps to 4.25 Gbps for Gigabit Ethernet, ESCON, Infiniband, and SONET/SDH signal conditioning. The new device is used by hardware manufacturers to ensure a clean signal when transmitting high speed networking signals, and improve the quality of signals in 4G Fibre Channel systems.
