Vitesse Ships 10Gbps Transceiver
Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor announced that it is shipping a new, 10Gbps transceiver IC, designed for SONET and other high speed networking applications. The company's VSC8479 components supports 9.953 Gbps to 11.3 Gbps operation, and what the company says is half the power of existing solutions. The company also said that it has secured design wins in the top five telecom equipment OEMs for the component.
