VivoMetrics Gets Homeland Security Grant

Ventura-based VivoMetrics, developer of the LifeShirt technology for monitoring vital signs, and Camarillo-based partner Storm Mountain Technologies said this week that the two companies have been awarded a U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Domestic Preparedness grant for $748,699. The grant will be used to conduct physiologic assessment of wildland firefighters. VivoMetrics's technology will be used to monitor firefighters during required fitness pack tests. Vivometrics device is used to monitor and collect physiologic data and is used by pharmaceutical and other companies to better monitor clinical research. Storm King Mountain Technologies provides products and services for wildland firefighting applications.
