Vyu Raises $825K

Los Angeles-based Vyu, which is developing a personalized, mobile entertainment guide service, said this morning that it has raised $825,000 in a seed funding round. The funding came from Jabbar Internet Group and other investors. The startup, led by Ahmed Nassef. The company says its service helps viewers follow, share and discover TV and video via their mobile devices. Nassef was previously Vice President and Managing Director of Yahoo! Middle East & Africa, and also was head of Maktoob.com. As part of the funding, the company said that it has added former Yahoo! exec Keith Nilsson to its board, and opened up an office in Dubai.
