Warner, Apple Bring TV Shows To iTunes

Burbank-based Warner Bros. and Apple said this afternoon that the two companies will make Warner's television library available on Apple's popular iTunes Music Store. Warner and Apple said that the content would include sitcoms such as "Friends", shows such as "Babylon 5", and "MADtv", along with animated features like "The Jetsons" and "The Flintstones". The shows will be priced at $1.99 per episode. The move is the latest for Warner, which has been inking distribution deals with a number of online video sharing and distribution sites. Warner has licensed content in recent weeks to GUBA, CinemaNow, and BitTorrent, among others. Warner Bros. said that the iTunes deal is an important part of its digital distribution strategy, which includes making the firm's content across the widest selection of platforms and devices available. Apple already includes TV shows from Fox, ABC, NBC, MTV, and CBS on its iTunes store.
