Warner Hedges, Creates Combo HD Disc

Burbank-based Warner Home Video said today that it has unveiled a new high definition disk that combines rival HD format HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The firm said at CES that the new "Total Hi Def" disc will support both formats, and is designed to eliminate consumer confusion between the formats. HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc have been locked in a battle for market share in the emerging high definition video disc format market. Warner said that it will start shipping discs in Total Hi Def in the second half of 2007.
