WaterHealth International Raises $1.8M
Lake Forest-based WaterHealth International said that it has received $1.8M in new funding from the International Finance Corporation and Acumen Fund. The company is developing water purification and disinfection systems, targeted initially at developing countries and elsewhere. The two funds involved are non-profit organizations which use a venture capital model to invest in socially responsible companies. WaterHealth's systems are useds to deliver affordable water to urban populations and rural communities that lack access to municipal water supplies, and are currently being deployed in India and West Africa.
