Websense Acquisition By Vista Equity Partners Completes

San Diego-based Websense, the developer of security software, is now officially owned by private equity firm Vista Equity Partners, the two said late Tuesday. Vista Equity Partners paid approximately $1 billion for Websense. The deal had been announced on May 20th. Vista Equity Partners said it would focus on accelerating growth, particularly through the Websense TRITON platform, which provides threat defense and data theft prevention; Vista Equity said that TRITON billings grew 20 percent in 2012, making up $233M of Websense's revenues.
