weMonitor Takes $5.3M For Energy Monitoring Services

San Diego-based weMonitor, a new startup targeting the home energy efficiency market, said this week that it has raised $5.3M in a funding round, from Dominion Investment Group. The company said it will use the funding to expand its technical and marketing team, plus release its first products in Q4. weMonitor is headed by Dean McDaniel, and says that it will help users track their consumption habits and provide energy efficiency tips, and also help connect users with technicians to help improve a home's energy use. The firm also appears to have a franchise angle to its business, and is looking for franchisees for the service in different territories. More information »
