Western Digital Claims Win In Court In Battle With Toshiba

Irvine-based Western Digital claimed a legal win in its ongoing battle with Toshiba, saying the California Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of its SanDisk subsidiary, and lifted a temporary restraining order (TRO) which had been granted to San Disk. Western Digital said the ruling prohibits Toshiba from preventing certain employees from accessing shared databases and servers and from refusing to ship certain engineering wafers and samples to the company in Milpitas. Western Digital and Toshiba have been locked in a legal battle over Toshiba's efforts to sell a NAND flash joint venture without the approval of Western Digital.
