    Whyville.com Targets Nutrition

Pasadena-based Whyville.com, an online virtual world focused on 8-15 year old kids, said today that it has been running a "virtual nutrition" project to help kids learn about nutrition. The site said that it has been partnered with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to help teach kids about diet. The program allows kids to plan their own virtual meals, and see the result, such as avatars who become pale and sickly, or otherwise reflect their diet. Whyville.com is a virtual world based on research from Caltech.
