    Whyville Gets Investment From Pat Sajak


    Pasadena-based Numedeon, the company behind Whyville, the online virtual world that targets "tweeners," has received a round of funding from the Wheel of Fortune's Pat Sajak, the firm told socalTECH today. Whyville did not disclose the amount of funding. According to Whyville, the investment make Sajak a significant shareholder in the company, which is a spinout of Caltech. Numedeon has previously received other angel investments. Whyville is an online virtual world which combines both educational material as well as social features, and targets 8 to 15 year olds. According to Numedeon, Sajak is also involved in a number of other businesses, including PatSajakGames.com, a record company, a music firm, a television production company associated with Columbia Television, and Sajak Broadcasting, which owns two Maryland radio stations.
