    X1 Appoints Engineering VP


    Pasadena-based X1 Technologies has appointed a new Vice President of Engineering, announcing this morning that it has appointed Howard Silver to the position. Silver joins the firm from Zantaz, where he was VP of Product Development. Silver has also served as VP of several groups at storage softare firm Veritas. X1 is a provider of desktop search software, and is backed by Idealab and US Venture Partners.
