X1 Ships SMB Desktop Search Software
Pasadena-based X1 Technologies, a provider of desktop search tools, said yesterday afternoon that it has shipped X1 Team Edition, a version of its technology designed specifically for small and medium businesses. The X1 Team Edition software adds administrative tools and a deployment management tool for controlling the search software. The Team Edition allows administrators to control how much information to index, add global saved searches, and individual features of the software turned on and off. X1's desktop search software allows for searching of email and files, with search previews of most file formats. The company's technology powers Yahoo's desktop search tool. X1 is backed by Idealab.
