X Prize Cup Names Title Sponsor

Los Angeles-based X Prize Foundation, which operates the X PRIZE Cup, said today that it has signed on Wirefly.com as the official title sponsor of the renamed Wirefly X Prize Cup. The event, being held later this month, features a $2M award for companies that are developing designs for a next generation lunar lander. Wirefly.com is an online retailer of wireless products and services. The X Prize Foundation is the group that was behind the Ansari X Prize, which spurred the development of the SpaceShipOne commercial space flight vehicle.
