X1 Rolls Out Workgroup Search Tool

Pasadena-based desktop search engine firm X1 Technologies said today that it has released a workgroup edition of its software. The company's new X1 Workgroup Edition provides enterprise search for small and medium sized companies. The software allows users to index and search for content on a corporate network and email. X1's desktop search tool is being used by Yahoo for its free desktop search product, and is also available directly from X1 as a enterprise search tool. The new workgroup edition adds enterprise deployment and management tools, centralized configuration, and security policy features.
