Xirrus Raises Venture Round From August, USVP
Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus, a developer of Wi-Fi switch equipment, today is announcing that it has raised an external round of funding from several venture firms. The funding came from August Capital and U.S. Venture Partners. As part of the funding, Steve Krausz of USVP, David F. Marquardt of August Capital, and Bill Schroeder, former head of Diamond Multimedia and Conner Peripherals, will join the board. Xirrus also is announcing today that it has entered into an OEM agreement with ADC. Xirrus will supply its Wi-Fi switches to ADC under ADC's Digivance WFX brand wireless LAN arrays. ADC will market the complete family of Xirrus equipment.
