Sunnyvale-based Yahoo! said this evening that it has acquired Rivals.com, an online destination site for college and high school sports and recruiting information. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Rivals.com operates a network of over 100 college and high school sports-focused sites, with over 200 local writers and reporters. The acquisition will go toward enhancing the search engine's Yahoo! Sports property, which is run out of Yahoo!'s Santa Monica media operations.
