Aliso Viejo-based YouMail, the advanced voicemail service run by Alex Quilici, has acquired the retail voicemail customers of San Francisco-based Quicktate, Quicktate announced today. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Quicktate, the sale will help it focus on growing its wholesale, voice-to-text business. Quicktate provides its transcription services to Youmail. As part of the deal, the two said they have entered a marketing partnership, where YouMail will introduce its users to Quicktate's transcription services, operated by iDictate, Quicktate's parent company. YouMail is backed by VantagePoint Venture Partners and the Tech Coast Angels.
