Zinc Matrix Gets $9M

Santa Barbara-based Zinc Matrix Power has closed a $9M round of funding from OnPoint Technologies, Intel Capital, and existing angel investors. Zinc Matrix is developing battery technology based on rechargeable polymer-based alkaline batteries. The technology is expected to lead to better batteries for notebook computers. The company also said that it is in a deal with On Point, a VC fund arm of the U.S. Army, to develop applications for the Department of Defense. More information »
