    Zubican Opens Public Beta

Los Angeles-based Zubican said today that it has launched a public beta of the firm's web site, which allows businesses to find, evaluate, and connect with other businesses. The firm said it is backed by Athenaeum Capital, Pasadena Angels, Tech Coast Angels, and angels from JAMDAT Mobile, mp3.com, NTI Group, Overture Services Rent.com, Tickets.com and Vivendi Universal Net USA. Zubican said it provides a database of companies from "virtually every business" in the United States. The firm's board includes JAMDAT mobile co-founder Austin Murray, Athenaeum's John Glanville, and NTI Group/MP3.com's Robin Richards, and its advisors include CaseStack's Dan Sanker, former VC Joel Balbien, and DivX VP Pamela Thompson Johnston.
