Zynga Ramps Los Angeles Office

Zynga, the high flying social gaming firm behind the popular Farmville social game, appears to be ramping up its recruiting efforts in Los Angeles. The firm, which said last year that it had selected Los Angeles for an expanded recruiting effort, recently posted a position for a Chief Technology Officer, based in Los Angeles. Zynga said in the listing that the CTO will be instrumental in growing and scaling the organization. Zynga had said earlier this year that it selected Los Angeles due to its "deep pool" of creative artists. In this case, the firm said it is seeking a technologist with a BA/BS in CS/EE/Engineering, with experience in the consumer web or games space. Southern California has a long tradition of computer gaming experience, with such firms as THQ, Activision, Blizzard, EA, and many others maintaining development studios in the region. Zynga's headquarters are in San Francisco. The firm has not said how many people it intends to hire in Los Angeles.
